Finding Your Way Through Bereavement

Updated: Aug 16

Grief is the price we pay for love. When someone we care about dies, the loss is not just in the absence of their presence, but in the empty spaces they once filled in our lives. The world can feel unfamiliar and even unfriendly in the first weeks and months. You may wonder how life can possibly go on when the person you loved is no longer here.

There is no timetable for healing. Some days will feel softer, and others will bring the weight of loss back in full. This is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign that your love was real. In time, the sharp edges of grief can soften into a quieter kind of remembrance. You carry them forward with you, not as an open wound, but as part of who you are.

From a coaching point of view, the aim is not to rush past grief but to allow it to coexist with moments of life and joy. Finding small rituals of remembrance, speaking their name, and honouring what they meant to you can help you weave their presence into the fabric of your ongoing life. Grief changes, but love remains.

Life Coaching Tips:

Create a gentle remembrance ritual that feels right for you. This might be lighting a candle on certain days, writing them a letter, or visiting a place you shared. These moments can help you stay connected to their memory while continuing to move forward.
