Not long ago, I was in a place where I thought I would never be able to write again. I had already been living with dyslexia since childhood, but after a major head trauma my cognitive abilities were shaken even further. Words would jumble on the page. Sentences wouldn’t form properly. I forgot how to spell things I once knew. Punctuation and structure felt impossible.
For someone who always loved expression, this was devastating. Yet, here I am today blogging regularly, sharing coaching insights, and writing not just one, but two books. Things I once thought were far beyond my reach have become my reality. And if I can do this, so can you.
Reflection & Empowerment
It wasn’t easy. There were many moments of frustration and setbacks. But the turning point came when I stopped saying “I can’t” and started saying “I’ll try.”
I want to share ten simple coaching tips that helped me reclaim my voice, rebuild confidence, and push past the barriers that once held me back.
10 Life Coaching Tips to Overcome Challenges and Believe in Yourself
1. Start small.
Big goals feel overwhelming. Break them into tiny, doable steps.
2. Focus on progress, not perfection.
Perfection is a myth. Celebrate each improvement, no matter how small.
3. Be kind to yourself.
Self-criticism slows growth. Treat yourself the way you would encourage a friend.
4. Ask for help when needed.
You don’t have to do everything alone, working with mentors, friends, or professionals can guide you.
5. Create routines that support you.
Consistency is key. Daily habits build confidence and skill.
6. Use your challenges as strengths.
Dyslexia taught me resilience. Head trauma taught me patience. Your struggles can shape your wisdom.
7. Keep learning.
Every attempt teaches you something. Mistakes are lessons, not failures.
8. Remember your “why.”
Connect back to your purpose: for me, it was to share my voice and inspire others.
9. Write your own rules.
Society’s expectations don’t define you. Find what works for your unique mind and life.
10. Believe it’s possible.
The most important step. If you believe change is possible, you’ve already begun.
If someone had told me years ago that I would write two books, I would have laughed and said it was impossible. But here I am.
So here’s my message to you: If I can do this, so can you. No excuses!
